  • We had a very negative and disappointing visit to this vet. I hesitated for a long time before writing this review because a negative review is not something I often give, but I genuinely cannot recommend you bring your animal to this vet. Not only was Dr. Pruitt incredibly condescending towards me and cold mannered towards my dog, he completely misdiagnosed her, resulting in increasing discomfort for my pet and a more expensive bill later on from a more competent vet who finally diagnosed the problem. When we first rescued my dog, she was sick with worms and the shelter we got her from recommended we take her to Four Peaks. When I described what we were seeing to the shelter owner (not round worms, but one small flat worm in her vomit), she thought it might be a tapeworm so we brought that up do Dr. Pruitt. He immediately dismissed this as a possibility and wouldn't hear anything about it. I figured he knew better than I did, so I didn't think anything of it and I went along with the treatment he recommended. At this point, I did not know he had misdiagnosed my dog but I still had such a miserable experience there that I did not return and I began seeing a different vet. Months pass, and then one day I see the same type of worm in my dogs poop. I take her to the new vet, this time coming with a picture of the short flat worm I saw. My new vet immediately recognizes this as a tape worm. My dog had had a tape worm in her when we rescued her (not uncommon for a stray) and Dr. Pruitt would not even consider or check this. I trusted him, and because of this, my dog went on for the next three months with a parasite inside of her. Even without the misdiagnosis, I would not recommend this vet to care for your animal. He did nothing to make my dog feel safe and comfortable (no treats, petting, comforting mannerisms at all) he muzzled her the whole time (I have had dogs my whole life and have NEVER had a dog be muzzled at the vet, and this is the most mild tempered dog I've ever had), and was completely dismissive of me and any question or concern I had.
