  • I live in Las Vegas, and saw an ad for a Saturday night 'Jazz night' at Lucky Dragon. I always want new places to succeed, so I figured it would be a nice excuse to come down, have a couple of cocktails and sample a few bites. The music was in their lobby bar, a nice, upscale area that opens into the small pool on property. Overall, it had a really nice feel and I enjoyed the ambiance. The jazz was a guy playing saxophone over a track; not what I'd hoped, but he was decent and I didn't mind too much (though I do expect that advertising a jazz night means more than that). Service was below average. The waitress didn't seem to know anything on the menu, and my first cocktail choice was unavailable for reasons the waitress didn't say. Drinks came relatively quickly, and we ordered some food as well. Food took 20 minutes to arrive; which would be fine for a full meal, but these were essentially appetizers. Worse, the food arrived in take out boxes. I could see they were getting food from across the way at the casino restaurants, but to not bother to plate the food in this environment was crazy. Most of the food was actually quite good, though the cheese and crackers plate was a joke of airport quality. In a competitive Las Vegas market, this is the kind of experience that has me unlikely to return. I may come back to try a full restaurant experience, but I'm unlikely to return to this lounge.
