| - Lucidi Distilling is such a gem of a place.
What We Ordered:
1 "Hoser, Eh?" (an Old Fashioned using their 80-proof whiskey)
1 "Berries & Cherries" (Dispatch Gin, blueberry, lemon, simple syrup, cherry)
Atmosphere: A++
Really though... can we talk about how perfectly decorated this place is? SO much thought was put into it, and there are so many small details/touches that make this place unique. The lights are bulbs inside of mason jars, which then are hung from (used?) ladders. Between each TV on the wall, there is a different fireman suit hanging up. There is brick, and wood all over the place that looks like it has been burned... in a FIRE. Get it? All around, all of these things create a super cool vibe. Not to mention, it's in downtown Peoria - it really adds some life to the area.
Service: A-
Initially when we got there, it was a little quiet and we weren't immediately greeted by the bartender - but after a minute or two, she spotted us and gave us a big smile and welcome. She went over what they do there at Lucidi, what our drink menu options were, and also said she could make us pretty much any other cocktail we might want. Drinks were made promptly, and she also brought us samples of the gin, the 80-proof whiskey, and the 100-proof whiskey without us even asking! Love that.
Drinks: B+
Drinks were awesome, I just felt like if anything they seemed a tad bit simple. Since they don't make food, it would just be nice to maybe see some more slightly exotic/unique ingredients in the cocktails. The Forcible Entry vodka is solid, and the whiskey was great as well. When it comes to gin for me though, I will always have a serious love for Nolet's Silver... so anything compared to it is just A-OK.
Creativity: A
As said before, I definitely feel like they could get a bit more funky with their cocktails - but the creativity that went into the building and decorations, just blows me away. It's super cool. Also, the logos and design of their bottles are pretty sweet.
We'll be back, and we'll bring friends!
