  • My initial appointment with Dr. LaVergne was fine. The doctor was friendly and the quality of care was standard. My 1-star review is for the incompetent office staff and management; i would give 0 stars if I could. When scheduling my follow-up appointment (to receive my test results), I specifically asked if the date they were scheduling me for was enough time for lab results to be back. The check-out lady assured me that 1 week was sufficient and that I would be notified if not. So I came to my follow-up appointment to which the doctor was 20 minutes late. She was in the room for a total of 3 minutes to tell me everything was fine. I was perplexed as to why I needed a follow up appointment at all, but paid my co-pay and left. TWO DAYS LATER, I receive a call from the medical assistant that the rest of my results are in and that I must come in to receive the results. I told her I had just been there and asked why my follow up wasn't rescheduled farther out so that I could have received all the results at once. The medical assistant stated "Well, we have a lot of patients so we can't follow up on everyone." She also stated that "The check out staff don't really know anything" which was hardly reassuring. Furthermore, she refused to just give me the results over the phone. So basically, this office is holding my test results hostage and having me come to TWO follow ups when one would have sufficed. Double the copays, double the time I have to take off work. Genius, really; they make double the profit off me. I have never experienced such a lack of professionalism and such utter chaos at a doctor's office before. I was promised a call from the office manager "if she had time," which, of course, never materialized. A tip for the staff at this Summerlin office- you are going to run yourselves like a business, please try to be at least a little competent in how you treat your customers (because that's what we are, customers, not patients, right?). I will never return to this location again.
