  • What happened to La Grande Orange? First off, I am usually avoiding airport food except for La Grande Orange at Phoenix Sky Harbor, where the pizzas are absolutely cheesy, tasty and delicious. We thought we would try the neighborhood version that all the cool kids refer to as "LGO." Knowing how absolutely delicious the airport version of their cheese pizza was, we ordered two. They both were essentially crispy overcooked Matzoh with a little cheese on them; definitely no where near the quality of (and I can't believe I am saying this) The Airport Food version! The barbecue wings were even gross, undercooked, chewy, veiny chicken drums and wings that I would not even feed to my dogs. It was as-though they painted un-marinated wings with BBQ sauce with a smoky flavor. Gross. These meals are not cheap, topping out over $40, for a poor meal. I gave the wings one star; the pizza three stars; rounded out it is two stars. Cmon, LGO - yes we love thin crust, crispy pizza, but not when there's a transparent layer of cheese and sauce.
