| - Who visits their parents for the holiday weekend and only brings one pair of shoes?
Only an idiot, or well... me.
So, I brought my favorite brown leather boots with me and wouldn't you know it, my horrible walking habits had once again wore my heel caps down to nothingness. I've had this problem-o before, hence I knew it was an easy fix. My only issue was that I needed to find a place that would replace them while I waited, since I was wearing them. And somewhere relatively close please? Thanks.
My first stop was a little place in Mentor, OH who wouldn't even take my business. The door said "Heel repairs while you wait", but apparently this little lady was too busy to do a 5 minute repair. Ugh... whatever.
Since I had to head out to Cleveland Heights for a hair appointment later anyways, I decided to leave early and find a place out that way. Using my handy-dandy Yelp app I found Coventry Shoe & Leather Repair. I was expecting the same, rude attitude as the store before this, but was pleasantly surprised by the "we'll make it happen for you" statement instead!
Parking can be a little tricky over by Mayfield and Coventry, but I found a spot super quick and walked right in. This shop was noticeably busy--customers walking in constantly and phones ringing off the hook--yet they listened to my problem and fixed my boots while I waited in my socks. Ten minutes later my boots came out in perfect condition, leveled (since I walked on them for a while without the heel cap and did some damage) and cleaned.
For a store this busy to pay that much attention to detail on a quick, $15 job was so impressive to me. They could have just threw on some new heel caps without thinking twice, but they even took the time to sand down any uneven-ness.
So, thanks to Coventry Shoe & Leather Repair my favorite boots are still perfect, I'm not walking lopsidedly anymore and I wasn't late to my hair appointment. Woot!
