| - What? How is it I haven't written a review for T&T? HOW!?
T&T is the Superstore of Asian supermarkets. It's HUGE. It's also owned by the same company that owns Superstore so I guess my analogy has double meaning.
I find that every Asian supermarket here in Calgary seems to be strong in certain areas, while lacking in others. One would have a large selection of Japanese goods, while one would be well stocked in fresh Asian Vegetables, while another would have a great meat section, or another that has a variety of treats. But T&T is consistent and covers all bases. You pretty much want to end up here if you are looking for a specific Asian item.
For the non-Asian supermarket consumer, T&T is quite easy to navigate around. Their staff can direct towards any item you are looking for. Confusion or vagueness is left with the mysterious item you decide to take a chance on. T&T in fact, is a great place to explore and take chances on. I would suggest playing the "random grab" game in their bakery selection, where they have the most excellent green tea cakes/cookies, and carry the fluffy Japanese cheesecake I always love to snack on. Whenever anyone plans on visiting here for the first time, I always bombard them with suggestions. Get the ice cram mochi! Grab the Aloe Vera pop! Get BOY BAWANG! Get ALL kinds of MISO! They have FROZEN NATTO!
They also have the most random section. A Filipino entertainment section full of Filipino tabloid gossip, movies, and tv show episodes. Just Filipino. No Chinese, no Japanese, no Malaysian. Just Filipino. Bizarre but I do like my ARTISTA gossip. Remember American Idol's David Archuletta? That guy is HUGE in the homeland. He is dreamy. Just saying.
