| - This was...unreal.
Manicures are supposed to be relaxing, but this was far from it. Unfortunately, my experience here was one of the worst.
First, there are only two technicals (normally, not an issue as I like supporting small business and start ups but...)
Cons:
1) One was competent, the other was completely incompetent.
2) I went with 2 friends and it took 2 hours to finish - this is absurd because we called in advance and had been promised to be finished in an hour max. To give you a frame of reference for their pace, we were in the store for 40 minutes having already selected our colors, and they were still scrambling to gather their materials. There was only one other person in the shop and she was already finished. I would have walked out right then and there if it weren't for the unrefundable Groupon.
3) Limited choice of gel colors. I wanted a pale white color and had very few options, one of which they were unable to locate in the store.
4) This is inconceivable, but they both kept searching for things in middle of the manicure. They would drop my hands and search through shelves and drawers...looking for I don't even know what.
5) When one of the technicians finished one of my friend's nails, they were horrid. They were patchy, poorly painted, with streaks running through them.
6) Another client walked in and after an hour, the incompetent technician had only managed to take off her previous gel (not even from all her nails...). The client was also furious about the wait and walked out.
Pros:
1) The competent technician re-did my friend's nails and apologized for the extra time and other technician's lack of skill.
2) The final product was fine...acceptable (unlike the service, which was unacceptable). But absolutely not worth my time and patience.
3) The competent technician was professional.
4) I found a $19 Groupon so at least I didn't pay full price.
Tips for the business owner:
1) Train your staff and don't let them near clients without practice. Real clients should not be practice runs.
2) Quality of service is integral. Professionalism and politeness is not enough.
