I've been going here for about a week now and completely love it. Ive lost 80 lbs and figured that the non-routine lazy trips to the gym were just not enough anymore. I needed someone who could lead me through exercises and give me the push that i needed.
When i found Ahwatukee CrossFit I joined because its a WOMENS ONLY group. I was so nervous feeling out of shape and still overweight. I expected the women to be all elite athletes but when i arrived... i found it was women of all athletic abilities (of course i was the most out of shape in my class). I am the slowest runner, the girl that cant lift as much, the girl who can hold her planking position for more than 20 seconds... but the great part is... i don't care anymore. I pick myself up and keep going... and the other women cheer you to the finish.
Being new.. it was nice to know that the trainer was always there to show me the correct positions/ and try out different weights. Of course safety is #1 and they make sure that you are doing everything correctly to avoid injury.
There's something about working out with such a positive group of women that really takes the pressure off. I feel like I am dying after every work out but its this community of women that inspire me to come back.
I cant wait for my next work out and I am excited to feel stronger, look better and most importantly feel better!
I have nothing but positive things to say about this place! Maybe ill provide an update in a few months :)
