On Thursday, September 29 I called Manny to cover and repair a woodpecker hole in the side of my 89 year old mother's home. The first call went great. He actually went to her home within 30 minutes and nailed up a tiny piece of wood over the hole and didn't charge her anything. We then began a dialogue about replacing the board. He said he was going to 84 lumber the next day and would text me a price. I never heard from him.
In the meantime, the woodpecker commenced working on a new hole in the side of the house. I called Manny on Tuesday, October 4 and left him a voice mail. I told him that I had some 23 gauge wire screen ~ which would cover a much larger area than his little board ~ and asked if he would screw or nail it to the side of the house. He didn't respond at all.
On October 5 I texted him at 7 am and he responded that "I'll check it today". After no sign of Manny, I texted him again at 4:19 to see if he was going to get by my Mom's house and he said "no...not today. On 2 big jobs. Maybe Monday. Tuesday latest." I reminded him that he had said he would "check it today" and he responded that he was in Waxhaw. I then told him to forget it.
If this is the type of person you want to work with, then go for it. As for me? I prefer to work with people who do what they say they'll do.
