| - My review is based on using the valpak coupon which gave us a one-weeknight stay ($139 for Fridays and Saturdays), dinner and breakfast for 2 for $99. It came out to $113 after taxes and fees. First, understand that the resort is dated. You're not going to a 5-star hotel.
The furnishings look very old fashioned but our room was clean and that's really the priority. For me, a hotel room is just for sleeping, so I don't care about the fixtures looking old. If you're the type that does care, then maybe this is not the place for you.
We had dinner at the resort restaurant, and the coupon entitles you to ANY entree on the menu which was nice. Drinks, taxes, and gratuity are not included though. We both ordered steaks, my husband's filet was pretty good but my sirloin was a little chewy. Oh, well. If you're not using the coupon, I recommend eating at the Lodge which has a better restaurant.
The breakfast menu is seriously lacking. Again, you're entitled to any entree on the menu but the selection wasn't great. I had a potato hash and my husband ordered the pancakes. The pancakes were plain, no fruit, no sides, nothing.
If you're looking for a vacation, the valpak coupon is a great deal. I don't think I would pay regular to stay here though.
