  • When Beads Galore in Tempe closed its doors in autumn of 2016 (a store that Bernie had co-owned with his brother Mitch), Bernie opened his own shop in Mesa. There's no shlock here, everything is breathtakingly beautiful. When I visited, there were many Buddhist-themed items: lovely beads and serene wooden Buddhas and silk purses in the cases. Each item is clearly hand-picked with love. This store specializes in trade beads, special and unusual beads that aren't easily found elsewhere. Shell and bone and precious gems and handmade beads and centerpiece beads used for pendants...and on and on and on. This store is well worth visiting.
