| - This place has one of the best customer service experiences for a doctor's office I've ever seen in Las Vegas. First of all, I have to agree, making an appointment was not the best experience. The appointment setter never returned my telephone call and apparently only worked a few hours a day. We played telephone tag for over 1 week. In one of the messages she left for me, she indicated that there was a two month wait to see Dr. Martin/Nguyen. That was by far the most frustrating. BUT on their contact us page, there is an email address. I emailed them and explained the telephone tag we were playing and within a few hours a woman named Reiny called me, apologized and scheduled an appointment FOR THE NEXT DAY! She was super polite on the telephone and empathetic to my frustration of not being able to make an appointment earlier. As a side note, I called like 15 times in one day and another woman named Jennifer at the front desk NEVER once got mad at me or irritated that I kept calling. She was empathetic and kept promising to inform the scheduler to call me back.
Anyway, I arrived for my appointment and the nurse took me back a whole 15 minutes PRIOR to my appointment. They took my vitals and set me up in a room. Promptly at my appointment time a student doctor arrived to take down my patient history. He was extremely nice, open and non-judgmental. Having a student doctor present is all about the learning experience. I would not see this as a negative at all. Dr. Martin clearly called the shots and made the diagnosis but the student doctor has to learn! It was not an inconvenience and I wouldn't let this deter you from coming here.
Shortly thereafter, Dr. Martin arrived. She was amazing! She spent more than 45 minutes with me answering all of my questions and concerns. She explained complex medical things in a simple and clear manner. She never made you feel like you were wasting her time or that she had another appointment to get to. She made you feel like you were her only patient in that moment. She was kind and soft spoken. After my initial patient visit, I exited to the front desk and scheduled my follow up appointment right there. They informed me that I would never have to go through the scheduler again to make an appointment. That was ONLY for the initial patient visit that you needed to go through a separate scheduler.
Each time I've called in with questions or concerns, the staff has been nothing but patient, kind and willing to go above and beyond. They even have their cash prices for doctors visits, follows up and a few other types of procedures posted on their webpage which blows my mind! No doctors office I've found in Vegas is that transparent. And when you are on a HDHP, it is so much better to pay cash up front then go through your insurance when you know you won't meet the deductible for that calendar year. The only thing I wish they could do is call your insurance company after your appointment, provide the procedure codes used and get an estimated cost for services based on their own contracted rates. This would allow the patient to evaluate whether it truly is cheaper to pay cash up front or go through insurance.
Last, I needed a new lab slip because it is cheaper to get your labs drawn at CPL over Quest. Reiny was the best ever yet again! First of all, she informed me about CPL which is a lab I had never heard of. She went out of her way to get Dr. Martin to quickly fill out a new lab slip so that I could get it done faster. Anytime I left her a message, had a question about billing or clarification on the lab slips, she promptly and pleasantly helped me out. I've never met a staff member so willing to go out of her way to help a patient. She has gone above and beyond! Love love love this place!
I would highly recommend this entire practice for your endocrine needs. I'll update this review after my next appointment. But for now, FIVE STARS!!
