  • I stopped by here this past Monday with a coworker for lunch. Honestly I didn't even know that there was even a Vino Volo in our airport until I looked at the airport map today. The inside of this place was nicely decorated with a bar on one side and seating throughout the rest. The tables were stainless steel and the chairs were very cushioned which was actually a nice change from most restaurants that I go to. Other than that everything else in the place was wine themed which I guess is exactly what you would expect from a place named Vino Volo. For lunch on this day my coworker and I decided to start out by splitting the Marconi almonds and truffle popcorn. Then for my entree I went with the roasted chicken salad since I was trying to eat somewhat healthy. What was nice about the menu was that each item had the calorie count on it and so you knew exactly what you were getting yourself into. Our Marconi almonds came out first and were actually quite good. They were completely covered in brown sugar which gave it a sweet component and then had a pleasant taste of rosemary to finish it off. After we were about 3/4 of the way done with those our salads and popcorn came to the table. My salad consisted of some nice looking greens, pumpkin seeds, goat cheese, dried cranberries and was already dressed with a champagne vinaigrette with the chicken off to the side. The salad itself ended up being pretty flavorful and I loved both the texture and the taste of the goat cheese while also enjoying the pop of acidity from the champagne vinaigrette. As for the chicken, well that was easily the most disappointing part of the meal. It tasted alright but was awfully dry and I would be curious whether they did the roasting at the restaurant or just pulled it out of a bag and put it beside the salad. Last but not least was the popcorn which was covered in truffle oil and Parmesan. While it was a bit more oily (I know it's truffle oil popcorn and so will be somewhat oily) than I would have liked, it tasted great as I got the earthiness and the sharpness from the cheese. The bottom line for me is that I would head back to Vino Volo again in the future. I enjoyed most of my meal with only the chicken falling flat and loved the fact that they included the calorie information on the menu.
