  • Beware of lack of communication and this business not following the signed contract. The contract says flower substitutions are allowed, but inside the discussed color scheme (defined in our contract as burgundy and white). However, when I arrived to our wedding reception for nearly 200 people, yellow roses were everywhere and the planned burgundy dahlias were nowhere to be seen. My corsage barely had any burgundy in it. We had to have our cake tinted a soft color in order for the delicate handiwork to be seen, so we chose a mint green - the cake would have not looked green if it had white and burgundy flowers on it as planned. However, with bright yellow flowers on it, the cake LOOKED very green, and the yellow/green combo looked like vomit/sickly. There were some burgundy flowers on the cake - but they were very sharp and pointy flowers (not at all like the soft burgundy dahlias we had discussed) which contrasted sharply and awkwardly with the delicate pattern of the cake. Attached is a picture of what the cake was supposed to look like (modeled after) - it looks delicate and NOT green. Also attached with this review is the actual cake - with the yellow roses making it look very green and the "murder me" (as I call them) burgundy flowers - too sharp to go with the delicate pattern on the cake. I was so uncomfortable and upset (and shocked) when I arrived to our party, which can never be refunded or made up for. I texted Aubrey and asked what happened (during our dinner at the party) she did apologize and said the dahlias died recently in a frost. I have no idea why she didn't take the simple and professional step to contact me beforehand and discuss options. I would have never chosen yellow roses - especially around the cake. White ANYTHING would have been better. To boot, when I pressed her for a partial refund, she hesitantly offered to mail me a check for $50. That is precisely 2.5% of the entire bill, which was $2,000. I would have expected at least 25-30% refund. I refused the check, not even worth it. How disappointing and sad to arrive at such a huge party and feel so confused and disgusted because you don't recognize that it's anything you planned - and paid thousands of dollars for. And to know that all your family and friends have to see what you didn't want to show them.
