They have a very comfortable lobby with nice office staff, which is good for nervous teens who might be unsure about getting better. They see people up to age 25. I can't say much about every counselor obviously, but mine is an extremely nice person who tolerates my abnormal and often rude behavior. Lol. I am forever grateful to him for that.
Oh, and they have a bunch of cheesy brochures about the dangers of drugs and alcohol in the lobby. They're entertaining. I laugh while I read them.
Seems like everyone there genuinely cares. If you need more intensive treatment they will help you find intensive outpatient programs and residential programs. And if you're bipolar or have a different illness, you can be prescribed medications by one of the many psychiatric nurse providers there. From what I've seen they also have a few of their own intensive outpatient programs going on for people with eating disorders, trauma, etc. Usually these groups are for ages up to 17 but I think a few of the groups are ages 17-25. If you have a teenager who is struggling (or you're a young adult who's struggling), take them here above anywhere else for counseling. They (or you) will feel a lot better.
