| - Love this gym.
Recently I decided that I should get off my butt and hit the gym once in a while, especially since I'm no longer able to eat whatever I want and get away with it. Since I live close by (and had a horrible experience with Gold's a few years ago), I decided to check out WHC in Edgemont. They are a bit more expensive than the average gym however I feel it's worth the price I pay.
I've heard a lot of people gripe about the parking and maybe I tend to go on the slower days, but I've never had a problem finding a spot. If you have to park in the overflow (which isnt even that far), SO WHAT? You're going to the gym anyway, consider it a warm up. The gym is spacious, modern, and clean so nothing to complain about. They recently renovated the change rooms and they're really nice, although I'm not a huge fan of the shower area (loud heavy doors, completely see through glass) but not a big deal. All of the equipment on the floor is in good shape and well maintained. Lots of machines so you can usually get one right away. The classes that are included in the membership are great, I love the yoga although it's a bit more fast paced than you would get at a yoga studio. Also, not that relaxing because weights are constantly being dropped on the floor above you. Staff is friendly and the trainers are really helpful without being pushy. I joined here and about 6 months later decided to use the personal training services and I'm very happy I did. I've been working with Brittany for a few months now and I can always count on our sessions to get a great workout.
The biggest draw for me is the Infrared Sauna. It makes my workouts worthwhile and sometimes I will come just to use it. The outdoor pool is awesome in the summer and the pub inside the gym will serve you drinks poolside. The restaurant has wicked food, the pasta bar is amazing, and I LOVE my protein shakes after a workout.
Again, I love this gym and I feel it's worth the extra money.
