Today, three colleagues and I traveled from Boston, MA to Davidson College for a conference. Our admin booked individual suites for each of us four months ago, and I called personally a week prior to check in date. I was ensured everything was all set. Upon arrival, we were told they overbooked themselves, and our reservation, the one booked months in advance, was the one to be altered. Amidst severe disorganization, they offered a few dismal options, leaving us to find our own accommodation during a busy timeframe with zero notice (as we declined to stay in a poorly rated Clarion farther from our conference site or cram into one suite - again, this is a work trip). This lack of professionalism and poor prioritization is beyond disappointing and left us in a vulnerable situation hundreds of miles from home.
