| - It saddens me that it's so difficult to find an animal hospital that offers kindness, compassion and integrity. These are the basic characteristics I think we should be able to expect from our animal caregivers. Grand Montecito, like its sister Centennial Hills, lacks all of these characteristics. They charge you for services without telling you, they do not call to give you updates about your pets when they are hospitalized for surgery and they charge you for re-doing tests that they do incorrectly. The sample they submitted to the lab for my dog came back inconclusive because, according to the vet, the sample was mishandled at the hospital (put on the slide wrong, allowed to air dry, packed incorrectly, he gave me a list of possibilities). But there was "suspicion of Lymphoma" (cancer in the bone marrow) so he recommended doing another test. And they actually charged me to redo the test! So I had to bring my dog back to the hospital (he can barely walk, by the way), have them do the test again and I paid $65.00. They nickle and dime you for everything. I spent $1400.00 for two dogs over three weeks and they still charged me $10.00 for a routine nail trim. I should have known not to come here when I found out that Grand Montecito is owned by the same people as Centennial Hills Animal Hospital.
