  • Booked this hotel through Hotels.com for two weeks. On arriving it looks aesthetically cool and the pool is nice. Despite the pictures, though, the room they gave me was in the tower. The lady kindly said I could have one in the main building and walked me to the rooms to see the difference. The tower is basically awful, and if I had had to stay there I would not have been happy, so I opted for the room in their main building. The problem is that this room (339) has a completey overwhelming smell of something - I can't figure out what. Kind of like sawdust but more unpleasant. I thought *maybe* I would be able to get used to the smell, because I really didn't want to move my things again. But, I couldn't. I kept waking up and my first thought every time was that it reeked and I felt like I couldn't breathe. Whatever the smell is, I seem to be allergic to it, on top of it as my ears have been swelling internally. So, on 3 hours sleep I went down to the desk and asked about another room. I was told to come back after 11, which is their check out time. I tried to sleep some more but couldn't and returned to the desk completely frustrated around 3pm. I noticed the couple in the room next to mine had vacated and on their way out I asked them if their room smelled bad. They said it didn't, so when I got to the desk I asked for their room, which is the same type as mine. The desk attendant (who was different from yesterday) insisted that even though it is the same kind of room and it is empty, that he can't give it to me. Made absolutely no sense to me. He also didn't seem to really give a crap. He gave me the key to check out a different room - 340, but the layout was awkward and it has a window facing traffic which was very loud immediately when I'd walked in there. I asked if there was a different one, he insisted there wasn't (despite most of the rooms appearing empty). The manager talked to me, and she was very rude - interrupting me and offering me even less options than the other guy. I kept asking when the girl from the previous night was going to be on duty, because I just didn't want to deal with either of those two any more and she just kept arrogantly repeating "I'm her MANAGER." I even offered to move to 338 even if it meant I had to move again in 5 days or something and she refused saying "we can't be moving guests around like that it's too much work". When I asked, "So, you'd rather have an upset customer out of someone who was going to stay here for two weeks than move them a couple times during their stay?" She just kept interrupting me saying she's told me what the options are, what do I want to do. I read all the reviews saying the service was awful. I get it now. I can even deal with shitty service if the room had been okay. I don't know who this manager is, but she is OBVIOUSLY NOT any kind of owner cause she doesn't give a single crap if they keep a two week booking.
