Service gets no star here but the egg rolls deserve an A-OK. What trip is not complete to Toronto without bringing back a couple cases of this handmade delight. Well, is it a must have? Maybe...depends on who you ask. I got mine as souvenirs to hand out back in the states. I can make egg rolls on my own whenever I want and they taste just as good. Really easy to make if you have the right tools.
If you want this and are in town for a few days, make sure you make this your first stop. do not call in your order. These people are very snotty, aka "cheurn", as others have said. Its like the soup nazi of NYC in the early days. If you don't go through the process a certain way, you are not getting your soup. His soup was great until the early beginnings of expansion. Anyway, make sure you go their store to place your order at least 2 to 3 days ahead. That way you are sure to see them put your name down on the order calendar. I had no problems but if you stray away from keeping your place in line or beg for one of the egg roll packs you see sitting on the table, don't expect to get any.
As for the egg waffles....total crap. Get them elsewhere. There is another shop on the second floor of the main mall that does ice sandwiches and egg waffles.
There is another place downtown that makes the best egg waffles I've ever had plus they have excellent ice cream. That's another review.
