  • When I lived in Steele Creek, I used to get a driver named Bill-he was nice and chatty, and would always go out of his way to pick me up, once we established a rapport. Once I moved to the University area, I was no longer in his part of the city. Now, I will start using Lyft or Uber. Literally every experience I have had in the past year with this company has been godawful. Latest one, as an example: Dispatcher booked me a cab, specifically asked if I was paying by credit card-I said yes, I do not carry cash. She advised fare for the 14 mile drive would be about 42-50 dollars. I was also told all drivers are required to have GPS in their car, in case they do not know the way to an address. Guy shows up, speaks almost no English, and does not know where my destination address is. I repeatedly ask him to look it up in his GPS, and he refuses, saying he has a general idea where I need to go. He finally admits that he does not have a gps in the cab, and has only been driving a cab for one day. Halfway to my destination, I explain I will be paying by credit card, and he acts disgusted and angry, stating he thought I'd be paying cash. I explain that I told the operator I use credit cards. He then drives 8 miles out of the way in the wrong direction, and therefore racks up a total 67 dollar cab fare, which is not my fault and not what I would normally pay. When we get to my location, his credit card machine "does not work", and we cannot run my card to pay. I swipe the card over and over; he had turned off the machine, and said he didn't know how to turn it back on, and that it wasn't his fault that the machine sometimes did not work with running peoples' cards. I was almost late to work, so he offered to take my cell number and call me later for a belated cash payment. I gave him my number and left in disgust. This was my last contact with him. I have a dozen similar stories of shady dealings and lying, fare manipulation and tacking on bogus charges. Avoid this cab company!!!!
