| - I...was dissapointed in my experience here.
I bought the 2 shellacs via Groupon and see have to use one. I enjoyed the manicure itself and its lasted extremely well. No complaints there.
I was very put off by the woman doing my manicure, I think she's the owner. The place IS dirty (the floors feel gritty, like there's sand or a lot of construction dust on the floor), very small/cramped and extremely cluttered. The manicure station was 2 chairs with a table on wheels over near the foot bath area. Her tools were sitting in a cup of blue sanitizing liquid that looked kinda dirty, but I didn't have any problems after so I guess the tools were clean. I felt very uncomfortable in general there. It wasn't bright or well taken care of. It looked like the pillows on the footbath station were home sewn and the rack of polishes wasn't clean or well organized and a lot of the bottles looked very, very used. Which is understandable, I just think that if you're going to have something exposed to the customer like that, it should be maintained. I work in customer service too at a local business and I would be appalled if I was showing someone around and had unkempt areas like that! I thought it was weird that they had bottles of other supplies sitting around, like foot bath soap and stuff. Have it in a cupboard somewhere or something. I think its unprofessional to leave all your bits laying around.
I could over look all that, I really could, but the owner took a couple phone calls while I was waiting with stuff on my nails and she kept talking in a weight voice, like someone does when they're unhappy to be there/stressed out but are faking it to avoid awkwardness. There was a sing-songness to her voice and she actually swore a couple times. That made me very uncomfortable. I make sure I know someone really well before I break out a swear word.
I have another manicure there but I don't think I'll be using it. I'm in school and don't really have the time and while I LOVED the incredible durability of the shellac and her work was good, the condition of the place and her personality was so off-putting that I don't want to go back. I'm pretty sad about that.
