I had a chicken shawarma wrap and a tabbouleh salad for lunch today. I got in just a few minutes after 12 and there was already a long line. I took it as a good sign. The line moved pretty quickly so that was good too.
You pay for your order and then tell another guy what you want on your wrap. There definitely aren't as many topping choices as Osmow's (my preferred shawarma place) and the chicken is in a warming tray rather than being cut freshly off the spit.
The tabbouleh salad was just the chopped parsley they have as a topping for the wraps. He did drizzle olive oil over the top, but it did not have the bright acidic bite of fresh lemon juice that I expect from tabbouleh.
The wrap only comes in one size option and it is fairly substantial. My issues with this wrap were more around taste. The chicken was dry (from being in the warming tray, I would think) and it was heavily coated in a savory seasoning. I wasn't the biggest fan of the seasoning and it overwhelmed the other flavours.
The garlic sauce was really garlicky and had almost a bitterness to it. I could live with the garlic sauce although it wasn't my favourite. I asked for hot sauce and I saw him drizzle some into my pita. He must have drizzled on the smallest amount or that stuff is weak. I couldn't taste it. Really, the only flavours that were evident was the overly savory seasoning on the chicken and the bitter garlic sauce.
Others obviously love the flavour profile of this wrap since the joint was very busy, but I'd prefer to go down the road to Osmow's where the chicken is juicier and the hot sauce is spicier and more abundant.
