| - I have been to Capo's several times over the last few years, dating back to when they were located on Tropicana. Since they have moved from the Trop location to Sahara this restaurant has gone seriously down hill, each time I go worse than the visit before.
I was greeted by the door guy, always somewhat gruff, but this time was very rude. Like why was I here, dinner? Imagine that. Then while we were enjoying a pre dinner drink at the bar, we requested a table. The "host" which was the same guy from the door, seats us at a booth, one of several that were vacant. Then he tells us that they are all reserved and he can give it to us if we make it "worth his while". So we tip him $5 as we walked all of 2 feet from the bar and figured he was just acting out the Chicago wise guy persona.
He said, you can give me another one of those and stood there expecting more tip.
Very odd indeed. It's not like he put much effort into it, and the booths remained empty throughout our dinner so they were not all reseved after all.
The dinner was okay, service was decent, food was decent, but overall the restaurant had a dirty, dingy feel to it.
The icing on the cake was the experience at the table next to us, where one of the guest was stung by a scorpion while he ate dinner. He even took a picture of it! So, if there are scorpions, which to Capos' defense, are native to the SW part of town, then you know there are other bugs and they definitely are not proactively preventing them from being in their facility.
Overall, I would saw last night's visit will definitely be the last.
Not enough good to convince me it's worth spending money there.
