  • I'm in my 30s and began to have issues with my wisdom teeth. The top left had partially erupted so I gave it some time to see how it would grow out. The bottom left began feeling like it was going to erupt so I was concerned I was no longer going to be able to bite down normally if it came out weird. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Leavitt a few weeks in advance. I was told the exam and procedure (if needed) could be performed during the same visit so that's what I signed up for. A couple weeks prior to my appointment I went in for an exam with my dentist for routine cleaning but to also get an idea of what was going on with the wisdom teeth. The partially erupted one could be removed by the dentist (it was a baby wisdom), I had nothing top right, but my bottom left was at the point where it start to give me some problems in the near future. I got to my appointment 20 mins early and the front desk staff was pleasant. Filled out my forms and went to an exam room. My x-rays were sent over by the dentist that had taken them two weeks before, but the Doctor showed me how the nerves near my wisdom teeth could potentially cause issues so he needed to take a couple of close up X-rays of those areas. That was quick and painless and they actually waived the fee for them. So while this is a business that reflected that they were really out to do the right thing for their patients. Prior to the surgery, the doctor went over all of the options, including not having surgery at all and rolling the dice. I never felt that he was pressuring me into a particular option. I also felt like he would've spent as much time as I needed to answer all the questions I had. I had done a lot of research beforehand so he had covered the majority of concerns I had, but again there was never a vibe where he was trying to rush through my questions to get to the next patient. I was IV sedated for the surgery so through my perspective it was quick and painless. A little groggy, but my girlfriend drove me to Walgreens and we walked around without issue until the meds were ready. I got home about one hour from the pharmacy and feel great. Will take it easy tonight and tomorrow just as a precaution but feel like I will be good to go after that. I should also mention the assistants. All of them were a pleasure to work with. If you're in need of an oral surgeon I would highly recommend considering Dr. Leavitt.
