| - I'm sorry but I had THE worst customer service ever at the Eaton's Centre Apple store. I called ahead of time and asked to make an appointment but was told not to bother, just walk in and that I'd be able to be helped right away. It was teeming full of people and more than enough staff just standing around, hot as a sauna in there and smelled like teenagers and dirty gym lockers.
They only had 3 employees working iPhone upgrades/activations. The person who brought me over to the console area told me it'd be about a 15 minute wait and then disappeared... I wasn't too worried I was second up.
45 minutes later one of them finally freed up for my turn, said he'd be right with me and left a console free to take the customer to the cashier before returning. I was relieved since my friend had come along and I felt bad making her wait. And our parking meter was going to run out.
Then, before the other dude came back, another employee swoops in and takes his customer couple that he had snagged up to the console. I politely said excuse me I was just about to be helped I was in line but the employee just turned his back on me and said "well he's not here and my clients will be faster than you will be so just back off and wait ok?"
I was taken aback and said "look I wasn't trying to be rude I just didn't understand why they got to be served before me." He just ignored me... then the wife decided to throw in her 2 cents and snapped that they'd been there for a while too, probably longer than me anyway.
I could hear the employee chuckling.
If only my eyes had death rays.
I basically was at that point where you debate just saying fuck it and leaving but you also feel like you've waited this long it's gotta be your turn soon and it'd be stupid to leave... I stayed like a sucker and had to wait another 30 minutes.
Finally it was my turn and the girl that helped me was rad; very nice and apologetic for the wait times blahblahblah, I smiled, nodded, but I was past the point of small talk I just wanted to get this shit done. She got me good to go in about 20 minutes. Douchewad was still dealing with his lovely duo of mid-life crisis next to us.
Whatever, it's done, I finally have a phone again and can stop using my work-issued one... now I just have to figure out how this stupid thing works. Trust me, trek to the Riverdale or Yorkdale stores.
TL;DR I know but I'm entitled to at least one long rant right?
