| - The massive door that leads into this enclave of esthetics is a reassuring reminder that you are about to leave your stress and worries behind you! In spite of the fortress-like exterior, Ostara manages to convey a tone of fresh, hip, fun beauty without being intimidating.
It's quite evident that every employee here is committed to making the spa a success - staff are friendly and attentive. The décor is simple without being clinical, and everything is immaculately clean (which is how a spa should be). I noticed that towels in the bathroom were replaced within the duration of my visit, and mani/pedi stations were cleaned up immediately after use.
Leda D, my esthetician, was very down to earth and obviously takes her job seriously, which undoubtedly benefits her clients. I certainly felt I was in good hands! Normally I zone out and doze during a massage, but I enjoyed chatting with Leda to learn more about her expertise with beauty treatments, as well as her description of the services and products Ostara offers. I was impressed by many of her comments and remarks regarding skincare; it's evident that she speaks from experience rather than product marketing jargon.
I was offered sparkling (and delicious!) lemon water to drink, but I guess they ran out of the brownies and fruit mentioned in the other reviews I've read. My appointment was at the end of the day and the staff were making preparations for a final cleaning before closing.
The one confusing aspect of the spa is the website, which is usually the deciding factor that makes me want to try a new place. The price list is not readily available and it would be nice to read descriptions of the different services offered. Basic information like spa hours is missing, and the "Live Chat" contact was unable to give me that information, which seemed strange. I purchased the massage + mani/pedi deal through Group Click, so I was curious to read more about their other services.
