  • This haunt is definitely in our top 5 list! I would rank it up there along with Field of Screams (Mountville, PA), PennHurst Asylum and The Bates Motel. Although would still say Field of Screams and PennHurst are a bit better. To be fair, those haunts have typically been in the business longer and have much bigger budgets. This haunt was very unique and enjoyed the near perfect blend of classic decor, with modern animatronics and then the FANTASTIC actors. Also, it was just the right amount of actors. Some places have too many actors where it gets predictable or too little. Here it was really unpredictable on if there will be someone to scare you, an animatronic or just decor... a balance very difficult to execute. The actors here are really dedicated, and two of them screamed the LOUDEST I have ever experienced in my entire life. On one occasion, my ear drum was literally rattling and this little girl was few feet away from me. I love to interact with actors at haunts and was surprised how well they role play back with you, one was down right HILARIOUS! I was also blown away by the water effects. Never seen so much water at a haunt before. I was also startled by two of the animatronics, one of them I almost fell to the ground as it got me real good. Normally I get startled from loud noises only but the animatronics here were the best in terms of scaring me. Also, I just wanted to talk about how wonderful the parking and ticket booth staff were. We were in Pittsburg for the weekend for my GF's birthday. We were behind schedule and arrived around there 9PM (Saturday night on 9/24) and asked the parking guy how long the line would be because was have to drive 4 hours home. If it's too long we will have to try this haunt another year. He let us park real close to save time, and suggested to just see how long the line is. He also said "Naturally, I highly recommend you check out this haunt because your going to have a great time! VIP will save you time naturally. However, it is a bit late and 4 hours is a long drive. Safety is the most important thing, don't want you to fall asleep at the wheel. Just go see how long the line is so that you can make a better decision for yourself." I was in awe of the honesty, just really refreshing to witness. After we ended up going through the haunt, he actually came to us to ask if we enjoyed it and to have a safe relaxed drive home. Really friendly/loving guy! Anyways, the general line turned out to be pretty long. We opted for VIP since there was no one in line for that. We were literally inside the haunt in less then a minute. Even cooler was that we had a more personalized experience. The beginning elevator scene was just me, GF and the actor so that made it more eerie. We walked through the haunt just the two of us for about 10-15 minutes before the group behind us caught up. It took about 40-45 minutes total walking through the haunt granted we took our time walking slowly so that we could savor all the decor. I wish I could have gone again the same night because there was just SO MUCH detail! Definitely check this one out if it's near you! I would rate this place an easy 5/5 overall especially the money/value and that it is a fundraiser type haunt. I am really glad we went and can't believe we were going to pass up on it especially do to the 50/50 Yelp reviews.
