| - I'm used to staying on the Strip, but unfortunately, the rates were too high so I opted for Alexis Park Resort, which is only a mile away from Las Vegas Blvd.
Compared to other places I've stayed at, all I can say is that it's decent. We arrived earlier than check-in and they said it would be an additional $25 for an early check-in (before 11:00am). We decided to wait and hit the Strip instead. No biggie.
We finally got our room and we didn't bother bringing our luggage down just yet because we wanted to do a room check and make sure everything was working properly. The room looked clean, the mini kitchen/ bar was ok, the bathroom wasn't in the best condition but atleast it was clean and the floorboards could've used some paint during their remodel. Cleanliness is very important!
Anyway, our mini kitchen didn't have a microwave, no utensils/ plates, & our phone didn't work. Went back to front lobby and told the guy at the front desk that we would like a microwave and that our phone wasn't working. Got some slight attitude from him, but I didn't let that little bitch phase me because I was not about to ruin my vacay with him. Maintenance quickly got to our room and brought us our microwave and fixed our phone. Cool, but that all should've been taken care of prior to any guest staying in their "resort" because we noticed that not many of the rooms were occupied anyways. So they had all the time in the world to make sure their rooms were ready for guests. Also, I overheard another guest requesting for another room with a microwave. Get your shit together, Alexis Apartment Complex!
The Monarch suite room had a flat screen in the living room and an ancient tv in the separate bedroom (w/ 2 queen beds). It also had old-school a/c & heating system. Kind of an eyesore seeing a big bulky unit in the top corner of the living room and bedroom.
Also, there are cats everywhere! Just like an apartment complex. Whoever owns or runs Alexis is definitely keeping them around because the cats looked well-fed... and it turns out that there were food bowls around the complex. Gross.
Overall, it's a decent place to stay. It's right across from Hard Rock Hotel on Harmon. And close by is a CVS (on Paradise & Harmon located in a small shopping center with stores and food places) which is better than going onto the Strip trying to look for parking then dealing with all the crowds.
However, I would not stay here again. The Vegas Strip has spoiled me too much.
