| - I live really close to Edmonton Trail and often it seems like a shame to drive so I'll walk to the Video Store or a Restaurant or what-have-you. I really like it, and it gives me an opportunity to explore places I might not otherwise get the chance to explore.
Walking by Diva Dave's, the first thing I noticed were the sheer amount of shiny stripper shoes in all shapes, sizes and colours. I LOVE stripper shoes, so I could not resist and I went in. I lack powers of observation, so I spent a full five minutes under the impression that it was your run of the mill, a little sumthin sumthin for everyone dress up and erotic shop. I kept wondering why everything was not only not my size, but well, a lot bigger. Even the aforementioned stripper shoes seemed to outsize me. Guys, I'm hoping you clue in a lot faster. It's called Deva Dave's for a reason. But even though I'm a little disappointed that the sparkly platforms are meant for men, I think its awesome.
The lovely lady who was minding the store was totally nice and explained everything. I am pretty sure she thought I got it until she saw the understanding literally DAWN on my face. That aside, I managed a fairly thorough exploration. The salon is upstairs and I was informed Dave works wonders on hair.
But the stuff downstairs: hairdye and fishnets and wigs and shoes and corsets and women's clothing and makeup, all for men. Actually, you know there was a decent amount of stuff that is great for the ladies and the guys, but whatever: I have a special fondness in my heart for drag queens, and so it was great to see a store that caters to a population that probably finds it difficult to find nice stuff that fits. At the very least, they have nice stuff.
The lady was actually the owner of Gibson's designs which are also sold out of the boutique. They are beautiful, and she is totally willing to make custom corsets, and her ready-to-buy designs were beautiful. Again with the goes both ways - awesome. It is definitely worth a visit.
