  • I always like to stay at new hotels on the Strip, and when I heard that Caesar's renovated one of their towers I knew I had to check it out. This review is based on my stay in the new Julius Tower. Reasons for my rating: * Cold reception at check-in. Talk about service without a smile! I couldn't believe that the front desk guy who helped us received employee of the month (as stated on his name tag). I didn't feel welcome at all, he didn't explain the rates for my stay and only had me sign the slip, and honestly it seemed as if he felt burdened to have to check me in. When I asked if construction was still going on in the tower, he didn't give a definitive answer and just told me to call the front desk if there was any construction bothering us. Not a great way to start our stay. Btw, there was what sounded like drilling going on above us at 9am on the day we checked out. Luckily, it was not continuous. * Elevators that didn't work. One elevator was out of commission on the first day of our stay. It was back in commission the next day, but once, when we were taking it up to our room, the doors only opened an inch and had to be manually pushed open. Seriously? One time there was a crowd of people waiting for an elevator to go up because only one out of the five elevators was working. And the elevator doors clearly haven't been changed - they were old-looking, dirty, and marked up. * Wifi was terrible! One time both devices got booted off and we had to call down to get back on. Later that night it was working so bad that apps on my phone weren't loading and I just decided to turn the wifi off on my phone. The next morning the wifi wasn't working on one of the devices, and we had to call guest services yet again to take care of the issue. * Walls are paper thin. We could hear the TV in one of the rooms next to us, loud talking, and other sounds you don't want to be subjected to have to listen to, if you get my drift. Gross. * Maintenance and housekeeping issues. The handle for one of the sink drains got stuck and the water in that sink would not drain. The glasses in the bathroom were not cleaned well and one had a lipstick stain on it. A toothpick was left on the floor next to one of the beds. There was black dirt on the hallway floor that had not been cleaned during our stay. The towels were thin, some of them with thread hanging off. And there were footprints on one of the ottomans. * Early check-in fee: I always arrive in Vegas well before check-in time and have never had to pay to check into my room early. They are sticklers!! The fee is $34. Also, check-in is later than most other hotels, at 4pm instead of 3. * Miscellaneous: The hallway in our room was ridiculously narrow. (The bedroom and bathroom were roomy enough, though.) There was a Keurig machine in the room but no k cups to go with it - I called guest services who said that they were in the mini bar and cost $14 for four k cups. I got insect bites during my stay. Can I say for sure I got them from the room? No. But can I completely rule it out either? No. FYI: They have self-service check-in kiosks if you so choose to use them. Also, if you book through the website, you are sent a link the morning of your arrival to check in online. If you do, you are supposed to pick up your keys using one of the kiosks. With a hotel this big and popular they are always going to get lots of customers, so I get the feeling they don't really care about going the extra mile for their guests. It really is a shame. I for one do not care to stay in the Julius Tower again. The good: Issy with the bell desk who was great when he picked up our bags after we checked out. He had them ready to go at the ride share pick-up location for when we were ready to head to the airport. Note: I stayed in their Octavius Tower a few years ago and am not taking that stay into account in this review. I did not write a review at the time and don't feel I can write the most accurate and thorough review of that tower with all the time that has gone by.
