| - Dan and Blanche extend a warm invitation to help them celebrate a very special occasion. We are happy to join them and looked forward to having a first time experience at this restaurant.
Two seating areas of this place, the first being I guess what they would consider outside seating, they call it their patio cafe and bar lounge, however it really is not outside because this place is in the Venetian Grande Canal Shoppes. You feel like you're outside because of the setting within this shopping (I'll call it an upscale Vegas style) mall is all about the Trompe L'oeil, (painted to be realistic) you feel like you're in a Venetian style town complete with the canal waterway, restaurants, shops and yes even a sky. Upon entering and walking through the facade of what is outside, you enter into a very minimalist modern style dining room.
The menu is American with Asian and Mediterranean influence. But, to be perfectly honest with you... I can't remember what the heck I had for my main course, something Asian like, The dish I remember best was the incredible salad I had before my main course. Yes, it is true, the salad was the star. It seems so simple...Cappressi Salad, but it was not! I don't know how they did it... a couple maybe more, drizzles of fine olive oils, plate dotted with pesto or a sauce, basil based and of course a primo balsamic vinegar along with a dollop of the softest mozzerella and just the right garnish. They actually turned something simple into something extraordinary. I would have been happy with just this salad and a nice Champagne. Nice job.
