  • Used to be a nice place when Rachell Waddill owned it but after recent experience and 10 years of being a client I am going elsewhere. Recently laid off from work and decided to take advantage of insurance before termination became effective. Dr. Andrew Weir informed me I needed 3 crowns, but my insurance would only pay for 2. I told them I was okay with proceeding but needed 100% of my costs. They gave me an estimate that stated what the insurance will pay for Porcelain and what My Costs were for Porcelain and I accepted it and I had the work done. Now two months later, I am hit with a $162 additional bill on top of the $611+ I already paid them. Reason being is they used porcelain fillings, which are not covered by insurance. I can appreciate that Porcelain fillings are better then metal, but I never had the option of making the Financial Decision to pay $162 more for Porcelain. Their response now is referring to the fine print that the estimate was just that an estimate. However, they clearly knew my financial circumstances and I made it perfectly clear that I could not afford to be hit with additional charges down the road. I asked them to make sure they speak to my insurance company and find out what they will pay. They spoke to my insurance and confirmed to me that 60% was covered and that I would be okay. My insurance company told me that they never told them that Porcelain was covered at 60%. My point is Central Valley Dental Care had to of KNOWN that porcelain fillings cost more than metal, however this is my problem now. I'm not in the dental care business to know the cost impacts and I just think they should have made sure the insurance would cover porcelain before proceeding. In addition to the above the FIRST bill they sent me has no explanation on it and just states Balance Forward with PAST DUE stamped on it. There was no 1st bill sent. . Just Rude and not professional anymore. In addition, the 3rd crown they told me I needed and PER their cosmetic surgeon they sent me to. . told me a year ago that tooth is very loose and they would not be able to use it to put an implant next to it, so why would Dr. Weir want to put a crown on it a year later???? I sure do miss Rachell Waddill. Rachell was a nice honest woman who cared more for her patients, as opposed to seeing how much money she could get out of them.
