  • Lemongrass sits tucked inside the Aria Casino just off the middle of the floor in an alcove with another restaurant. While waiting to check into the Vdara next door, I asked the concierge about great local restaurants for lunch. She recommended Lemongrass. Arriving just after 2 pm on Wednesday, I was seated in a mostly empty restaurant that was in a nice open area just off the main floor but strangely had a darkened interior. To be honest, it was bothersome, as if management had dimmed the lighting to tell people to get the heck out. It contrasted widely with the well lit slot machines just a few walks away. Waitstaff was quick but the Asian staff was reserved and didn't engage in anything other than light conversation. I decided to go with one of my favorite, Chicken Pad Thai. From past experiences in traditional Thai restaurants, this is one dish that is easy to make, but also easy to screw up and serves as a good litmus test. While the menu was impressive, the pricing was not. There is no distinction between lunch and dinner pricing, so my order cost $18. The meal arrived was a large, very savory portion almost twice what a lunch portion would consists of. Considering this was a $18 dish, I decided to half it and take the rest for a snack. True to expectations, the dish was chock full of the standard ingredients with lots of chicken, noodles, peppers, carrots, onions, and bean sprouts. Overall, it was very tasty, and joined with a kettle of Hot Green Tea, it filled me up and prepared me for the rest of the day. Overall, I think Lemongrass is a great place. Considering the location inside the Aria, I expected the higher-than-normal pricing but was turned off by the dark interior but at least pleased with the quiet environment. Location was convenient and staff was quick and efficient at both service and busing tables. Overall, I give it four out of five stars.
