  • Frankly I could give this place four stars based on the smell alone. We walked into a donut shop nearby and were disappointed just walking in, so when we came into Colossal Cupcakes, we were doubly thrilled. It smelled so fantastic, and all the cupcakes we tried were great. I would never make this a go-to place for cupcakes--they're really good, but honestly for the prices, you're paying as much for the experience as the cupcake. The cupcake itself just isn't worth the price in my opinion, but when you're with people, getting a huge cupcake in a whimsical little store, I'll pay a little extra for that. One thing I will say, the buttercream frosting I was genuinely impressed by. It was just the right kind of light--very literally melts in your mouth. The cake really is good, but the buttercream is remarkable. A worthy stop if you're into the experience!
