  • So, we're out-of-towners stopping by at the Vons next door to pick up a few things. We look over & look what awaits us--my husband does a double take! Scoops is Thrifty ice cream! What??!! That's total nostalgia for my generation. Sure, they still have them at the local Rite-Aid, but its very own ice cream shop!? Yeah...we're not going to just pass by. We are SO going to partake. My husband grew up having these yummy & affordable (well, at least they were when we were growing up) creamy desserts (yes, that's how I describe ice cream) so it was a fun walk down memory lane for him. If you're on your way to Vegas from the Hoover Dam area or on your way to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas, stop by here to quench a dessert craving.
