  • "Eek, me thinks not" is not the correct words I would use to describe this place. If I could rate it lower than this I would, with the title of "Hell NO, run away" First let me preface with, yes I know it's "dollars" and "minutes", but this is principle. It may be dollars for me, but over the span of a day, a week, etc it adds up to a lot of people's dollars. Big Bucket Car Wash.... This company recently changed their self wash procedures. Before, you'd drive in, pull up to a booth and swipe your card and do your thing.... Now you take a ticket which starts your time, 50 m from the wash bay doors, wait for the big door to open, pull in do your thing, wait in a convoy of cars to get to the cashier, give him your ticket, and he stops your time. First ripoff: charging for time you're not washing the car, time that I as a consumer cannot control. If I put $ in and choose not to use it, that's one thing; but if there's a few cars in line, with chatter at the cash window, different story. 230 seconds into the soap, I change to rinse. Soapy water is still coming out 450 seconds in. I grabbed the attendant, he stood there spraying for nearly 3 minutes and then went and got his manager, who showed up slowly & sprayed for longer than the attendant... They then had me back out of the bay and move to another. They said they'd fix the time at the window, ok - no worry.... Get out rinsed the car off... Now I back out and I'm waiting in line to pay. Dumb system. I get to the counter, the guy asks me what I usually pay. I said $4-5. He says, ok then $5. I agreed, gave him my visa and he passed it back with the receipt. I drive off, with an uneasy feeling, look at the receipt and he's charged me $12. I turned around and drive straight back there to get a refund. Walked in there like I meant business, and it took him less than a second to have cash in his hand to give to me. another customer was driving through at the same time and listened to him say to them "how much do you usually pay? ----- how does $5 sound".... I leaned over, and told the other customer to check their bill , heard her say what the hell, and then I shouted out to the other people in line to check their bills. And, as ridiculous as it sounds for $12, I felt better. He was scanning someone as I walked in to complain. Who knows how many others have been taken advantage of? Now here's the fun part. This situation stews in my brain for a few hours.... And I called Visa. Asked them if they could check if there's anything out of the ordinary, so far, just one charge today (for bunny food!) & nothing from the car wash... What the hell, where did he scan my card. The lady at Visa highly recommended that I close my card and get a new number..... I can't say with fact that they skimmed my card, so they are not scammers for that (though be very aware!), But they are for overcharging and gauging.
