  • Came here alone for a late lunch on a beautiful Sunday, April 26, at around 2:15 PM. I've been here on several occasions before, but never alone... Checked in with the hostess at the front desk on the 2nd floor of the Stratosphere. Made my way through security line and waited for the elevator for a little over 5 minutes before I was able to get to the 106th floor. The ride up was about a minute or so... Upon exiting the elevator, you have to check in again, which was a little overwhelming, considering you've already made so many stops. The wait for a table for one was about 10 good minutes...considering the lunch crowd has pretty much died down by this time. I was seated at a table behind 3 gentlemen facing away from them. My waiter, Andrew, came by to see what I wanted to drink & I ordered my usual boring virgin piƱa colada. After he brought my drink, he took my order and I was ready to get down to business. The view was magnificent and the weather was just perfect. I couldn't have picked a better day to sit atop this beautiful restaurant, while taking in all that Vegas has to offer. When my wagyu carpaccio arrived, Andrew also had another table show up waiting to be seated. He had to go and tend to them so I didn't want to be rude and bother him to take a picture of me with my food. So, I decided to bother the 3 gentlemen behind me instead. Yes, I literally turned around just to interrupt their meals. But they were so sweet about it... The wagyu carpaccio was excellent. Beautiful presentation as well. It had just the perfect blend of flavor, oil, and the consistency was just to die for. It literally melts in your mouth and the cheese adds just the right amount of salt to give it that extra flavor. I basically finished the whole thing in under 3 minutes. Lol A few minutes later, my short rib and crabmeat Benedict shows up. It was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was perfect with every bite. The short rib was moist and tender. I couldn't finish it because I had already finished my appetizer, plus I'm not a potato fan...but even then the potatoes tasted great. Andrew came back to check on me several times to ensure that I was enjoying my meal and indeed I was in heaven. Great food, beautiful view and excellent service!! What else can a girl ask for? Andrew suggested that dessert would make it even better, but unfortunately I didn't have any room. It would've definitely been great to have my friend, Joe, with me again...but I forgave him for not meeting me due to his being so busy prepping for the big fight at the MGM next week. I still had a wonderful time nonetheless.
