I was on my way out of St. Lawrence Market, after having eaten a pretty lousy burrito, when I decided I needed something sweet. I've probably passed Eve's Temptations a billion times but this was the first time I actually stopped and perused their wares.
It didn't take long for me to land on the Pecan Butter Tart, as butter tarts in general are one of my favorite desserts ever.
So it's a perfectly average butter tart. It immediately loses points for being served cold; like, how not fresh is this thing, exactly?
The very thick, very generic crust doesn't help matters, but the filling is admittedly quite tasty. It's very rich and sweet, and the pecans give the whole thing a nice texture.
I doubt I'd ever order anything from Eve's again, though. There are just too many other options in the immediate vicinity to waste time on something that's barely passable.
