  • My family has been faithful to Ford, particularly this location, for car purchases and car "check-ups," for as long as I can remember. Every experience has been what you would expect from a thourough and informative car dealership... with the exception of our last few interactions. My boyfriend and I went to pick up my car from the Ford repair shop on location. We thought it would be a good time to walk the lot, as we would like to consider purchasing a truck within the next year. Now, I understand the business of sales; I also understood it was close to the end of the month and their driven desire to meet month-end goals, etc. I'd like to be clear that this review is not meant to bash their job description. My boyfriend was very clear about what truck he is looking for, and was also 100% transparent that we will not settle for a vehicle we can afford now instead of saving a little more to purchase the one we want in the future. On more than one occasion, these statements were made to our sales associate. He didn't seem to take what we said into consideration; even so, we understood he was attempting to make a sale as he is in the business of sales, and the conversation remained friendly. What I don't understand or appreciate, is being guilt-tripped into "just coming inside for a pamphlet so my boss doesn't yell at me for letting you walk away." What I also don't understand or appreciate, is that same sales associate instead going to get their "numbers guy," rather than a pamphlet, and forcing us to sit there and FURTHER explain ourselves as to why we did not want to put money down on a truck we did not want, just because we could afford it. This man (I wish I got his name), physically put his body between us and the front door, so that we could not leave until he decided the conversation was over. I don't respond well to being forced to explain myself more than once, less so when I am forced to repeat that same explanation five times, and even LESS SO when some stranger (who has already made us feel bad for how we will choose to spend our money on a car) physically does not allow me to remove myself from a situation I am uncomfortable in. Like I said, I understand the business of sales. I can even appreciate their diligence. But there is a line between appropriate and inappropriate behavior for employees across the board for ALL businesses, and they undoubtedly crossed it. Severely disappointed, Ford.
