| - Based on the awesome reviews on Yelp and a Yelp offer of $5 for $10 deal, we decide to give this place a try. We chose to come at lunch time, because we heard lunch has a better price (Thank you fellow Yelper - Doug D).
The restaurant is small; half of it is bar and the other half holds about 8-10 tables. We just moved from Salt Lake City, so this much liquor in a small restaurant is surprising to us...a nice surprise, of course. There's a nice size patio, but no one in the right mind would want to sit outdoor for lunch this time of the year (monsoon season) in Phoenix. We got here about 5 after noon, the restaurant already started to fill. We waited about 5 minutes, not because the restaurants are full; because the only waitress is chatting with other customers. I was annoyed.
We finally sat and the waitress kindly helped me pick out Pernil Asado. Hubby got a Cubano Sandwich. Both came out quickly and super delicious. Honestly, I did not expect the pork to be so juicy and good. You can tell they pay attentions to food they prepare, when the beans and rice are so tasty.
My belly is happy so I am happy, and I could forget about the wait. In fact, it might have been more than 5 minutes I waited, but......I forgot it already. I guess I really don't mind having a nice, friendly, and helpful waitress who might be slower because she is also nice, friendly, and helpful to her other customers.
Hubby and I are planing to come back for dinner sometime soon. I'm dying to try their sangria. To be continued......
