  • My 9 year old daughter has been completely traumatized by the dangerous practices at this dental office. Both my children have been regular dental patients at this office, since 2014. We loved Dr. Crystal Bill. She was the dentist that always took excellent care of both my children. Unfortunately, she moved out of state and my daughter's dental nightmares began. My daughter has disclosed medical problems. She is under the care of a cardiologist and other specialists to treat an incurable illness. On June 13, 2016 under the care of Dr. Bill my daughter got her first set of sealants on two teeth. They painted her teeth. It was uneventful and covered by our insurance. On August 2, 2017 a new dentist named Dr. Jeong Seo recommended sealants be placed on two more teeth. He explained it would be a quick visit and had me sign a paper agreeing to this procedure. On August 9, 2017 my daughter went back to have her teeth painted with sealants. She came out and told me she felt dizzy. I asked why and she said they put a mask over her mouth. As we were walking out to the parking lot my phone rang and I was told to come back because I owed money for the gas they gave my daughter. The hygienist and others were in the waiting room telling me that my insurance does not cover the nitrous gas they gave my daughter. They said I owed over $100 for this. I immediately asked who authorized her to have "gas"... she has NEVER been given gas in the past as we would NEVER allow it due to her medical condition. The office staff said they would investigate who was responsible. We never got a phone call or an apology for THIS completely unnecessary procedure. On June 16, 2016 we asked to see the Orthodontist about a permanent tooth that was not erupting on her bottom. Dr. J. Eric Davis was the Orthodontist. After his consultation he recommended braces be put on her upper teeth and in six weeks come back for the bottom teeth. We signed waivers and the braces were put on and paid for in full this SAME visit of our consultation. He only works out of this office on Thursdays. We would see him about 1x a month. Sometimes my daughter would break a bracket and when we called the office they would make us wait until Thursday of the following week. One time we were told to go to ACE Hardware and buy wire cutters to fix the dangling wire until the next Thursday. My daughter was only 8 years old when the braces were put on. She was not responsible enough about taking care of them herself. My husband and I would juggle flossing, brushing, and cleaning her mouth. On September 7, 2017 my daughter and I both were told at her 3 p.m. orthodontist appointment by Dr. Davis that her next visit would be a longer one because they would be removing her braces. My daughter and I were excited and scheduled her next appointment for October 5, 2017. When we entered the room the dental hygienist said that Dr. Davis does not have any current notes on my daughter and said that there is nothing in his notes about removing the braces. My daughter was devastated. When Dr. Davis came into the room he said that he is not finished with her treatment. That she had to come back for more treatments. I was completely frustrated and told him that we are FINISHED with this office and that we want them removed. He tried asking how he could make this situation better. I explained that I have lost all confidence in this office and don't feel like my children are getting the level of care we have paid out of pocket close to $2,000. I explained how this dental practice gave my daughter nitrous without our consent and tried collecting more money. He said that giving nitrous for sealants was not a normal procedure and would discuss this with his staff. He told me I had to sign a waiver and the braces would be removed. He asked us all kinds of questions about who we will be seeing next and other unprofessional dialogue. The next day I went into the dental office to obtain my daughters dental records. The office manager was extremely professional and printed them off immediately. I asked her about the procedure to file a grievance and she said that Dr. Davis will call me about this. When I got home to look at the medical records it was completely alarming. Dr. Davis did not record a single note from our September 7, 2017, 3 p.m. orthodontist appointment. The hygienist was correct by telling us Dr. Davis did not have any notes in the computer on our daughter. We were scheduled for removal and Dr. Davis told us it would be a longer visit. We even told my daughter's teacher we would be late on October 5, 2017 because she was scheduled to get her braces removed. So on October 5, 2017 Dr. Davis never remembered what he told us on the last visit. In her dental records the nitrous gas episode was excluded from our reason to vacate this dangerous practice. Instead Dr. Davis wrote some very inaccurate and unprofessional statements in her records.
