  • It's been four years now since my first review (and stay) at Filmores. I've been a repeat 'resident visitor' since then, and I've had great times every time. This is an excellent place to stay downtown for a good rate, and they offer weekly rates that can not be found nearby. Also, this part of downtown has changed a lot since 2012 - the area had once been a little sketchy; today it's gentrifying and more condos are being built nearby and newer shops/places to eat are opening up. I've never felt unsafe around here and of course if you have any questions about this neighbourhood just ask the guys at the front desk. You're only three blocks from Eaton Centre (big food court) and a few pizza places nearby; the 'Y' isn't too far and there's a Goodlife Fitness nearby too. There's also a couple of convenience stores within two blocks. Call ahead if you plan on staying at Filmores to make sure there will be a room available when you plan on visiting.
