| - My daughter loves skating at Skateland!! We come pretty much every Sunday for the "Lights Out" skate special, and whenever her school has a special skate night. Sundays 4:30-7 It's only $1 to get in, so u can't beat it. Never tried the food so I can't comment on that. It gets a little crowded from time to time and a lot of inexperienced little ones using the skate mates can be a little tricky, but if you can maneuver your way around them, everyone can have a good time. One thing i don't like is their admission process. I wish it was faster and more efficient. You spend at least 15-30 minutes trying to get in, even if you're towards the front of the line. They have adults fill out a waiver if you plan to skate, plus they give everyone bracelets. But it takes FOREVER. If I have a play date there I always plan on being at least 15 minutes early to account for this. I think they could have some sort of computerized system where you fill out a form once (maybe online), and keep it in their system. I've been there several times and have never seen more than 2 people handling lines, even when lines are to the street. This needs to change. Aside from that, it's a skating rink...nothing fancy, but serves its purpose. The music they play is always a hit with my kid. Always a good time.
Edit: had my daughters birthday party here in December and all of the kids had a great time. It was Saturday afternoon and it was packed. Every birthday table had been reserved. We had a table with 10 kids, plus some of the parents stayed to skate. We only booked one table so the rest of us just sort of floated around...only sat down when the kids were off skating. It really wasn't that big of a deal, but if you want extra seating, you have to book and pay for an extra table. On Saturdays, parties are booked for 2 1/2 hours, but it was plenty of time. The birthday girl got a special birthday cup with drink of choice, a trip to the dj booth with her friends and some extra tokens. Overall it was super inexpensive compared to other birthday venues I looked at for that many kids. I would do it again!!! One thing I've notice is that some commenters have complained about the food, but that seems to happen when they go on a day or night when it's slow. We're only been when it's crowded, and the food has been ok. Nothing fancy, but not awful. I guess the food sits out more when it's slow. Something to consider.
