rev:text	i have never been so excited for a vacation before this last weekend. i had taken time off of work and my girl and i made reservations months in advance, and had even been listening to all the artist at the life is beautiful music festival leading up to this weekend. So we got to vegas and we pulled into the parking garage for the El Cortez. We checked in and we were off to our room! Boom! walked and was like what the fuck is this? we paid a shit ton of money to stay at this location specifically because it was right in front of the festival! i mean damn the vintage suite or rooms or whatever you want to call them sucked ass. i couldn't walk in front of the bed without letting my girl go first because there was no room to pass. Then when you got to the other side of the bed you were on the other side of the room! like shit if this big ass dresser that this even bigger tube tv sits on wasn't here, we would have no place to put anything. My girl was not happy at all! i thought i would be able to make due, but then we went to the 4 queens to see my friends and their room i was like shit we got hosed! So we woke up the next morning the first day of the festival and we called down to tell them how unhappy we were with our current room and that we wanted to switch rooms. they said they had something for us but it would cost an additional $20 plus tax per night! i said fuck ok. so now we have new wristbands to get to our rooms. i was going to invite my friends over and wanted to make sure they could come up to the 3rd floor with no problems so i asked the guy watching the elevator if it was going to be a problem and he said he didn't know. so he stops another security guard in full uniform with a badge and everything and asks him. that guard said it isnt a problem as long a i come down to get them. i said great thats not a problem they have they own room on the strip. we just wanted to hang out in our room before we went into the festival. he said ok no problem. my friends come over (2 friends only!) and we go up to my room. my new room is beyond great! i have a great view of 2 stages one being the main stage. this was the case up until the last day of the festival. sunday! it all went down hill again! so my girl and i are getting ready and we planned to go in later that day. my 2 friends came over at like 530 because we were planning to go in at 6pm. they call and my girl goes down to get them. this time tho there was a different security guy there. he didnt let my friends up. my girl comes back into the room and she isnt happy about it. so i go down there and i tell the guy that they are only coming in for 30 min or so until we go to the festival. he gave zero fucks and told me we had to go get wristbands for them. i look around like bro we on day 3 and its the last day of the festival and this is the first time we have had a problem. again zero fucks given. he even said he was head of security and that this is how it is. i talk to the other security guy who had been letting me come get my friends and he said that was his boss and he would get fired. so we walked up to get them wristbands for now 15 min since 15 had gone by talking with the little bald security guy with napoleon syndrome. i tell the person at the counter that i needed 2 wristbands for my 2 friends so they can come up and wait 15 min while i finish getting ready. he looked at our room and said 2 wristbands have already been given out for this room. i said i know i have one on right now. he said they were going to cost me an additional $20 per wristband to go up! i said i already paid a shit ton for this room you must be joking. he said they were getting complaints about partying and they were trying to deter people from going up to hang out! i was like who the fuck comes to vegas, stays in a hotel next to a huge music festival and fucking complains about partying? then the same hotel takes extra measures to accommodate them but wont do the same for me? i have never been treated so poorly at any establishment in my life. we were planning on making this a yearly trip and staying at the el cortez. now im like who the hell wants to stay here? my friends who stayed at the 4 queens and the 2 that stayed at harrahs didnt have any problems. i had really high hopes for this place my girl was talking it up and saying how awesome it was the last time she was here. we even paid more money to stay here! that was stupid! dont stay here unless you want the dirty as hell vintage rooms that you can barely change your mind in or you want to be disrespected after giving a shit ton of money to this establishment! oh and to top it off they had a tent at life is beautiful where you can spin the wheel and get free play. i spun the wheel got a 5 dollar freeplay credit. woke up the next morning to spend that and gamble more...that credit expired the same night. so the festival ended close to 1 am. i couldnt even have used that because there was no reentry! STUPID!
