| - I found Wholesale Window & Door online and thought I would get a quote. The owner came by, no pressure offered me the best deal out of everyone and the next day I gave him the job to do my windows. It took over 3 weeks with very little communication (which is fine), but i finally got an install date. In the proposal the owner offered me AMI windows (which I had never heard of) and assured me that they were top notch quality. When the installers came the windows had a name brand of Alpine.. which I thought was odd, but later came to find out that AMI owns Alpine and a host of other "value" replacement windows. A quick search online gives you 1000's of reviews of how horrible Alpine windows are. I now figured out why this company gave me a price that was 2k less than anyone else. Thus far the windows are ok.. I don't really notice a difference, but only time will tell.
The other issue with this company is that they use different contractors to install your windows. Some of them are great and others leave more to be desired. For our original install the installers chipped my interior wall with a latter, which they later patched, but it doesn't look the same. They also did not want to pay for a painter to paint the hole. However, this was not a big deal for me because it was very small hole. What really upset me, which is why I am giving these company 3 stars is that one of these windows came in with a bent frame. The installers installed the frame bent in my window and didn't say anything to me. When I got home from work I looked at the window and saw that the frame was bent, and was told that a replacement frame was ordered. Big issue here is is that Wholesale windows and doors says that if you don't paint the stucco around the window within 10 days the warranty becomes void. I had to have my painter come and paint the stucco and now I have to pay him again because the frame was just replaced for a second time. I am not sure why they couldn't just not replace my window with a broken window and do the job right the first time. Otherwise, the installers left their t-shirt in my bathroom and left the place very dusty. In conclusion, I would not use them again, but I don't think they are a bad company, but I rather pay more for better service and quality.
