  • This is my first time using David's Bridal. I came in several months ago to purchase a Bridesmaid Dress and was appalled at the treatment and procedures. When you enter, they have you sign in (or rather, sign-up) but you have the option to check "Yes" for updates, which I declined to select and yet, within minutes of leaving the store, received MULTIPLE text updates to my phone. The store clerk (who, I believe was new) asked for the Bride's name and pulled up her account via her phone number, as is procedure. He assisted me in pulling the dress for me to try on. Unfortunately, David's Bridal DOES NOT CARRY ALL SIZES OF ALL DRESSES IN STORE. I needed to try on a size '0' and all they could offer me when was a size 0 dress "in a similar style." But, if you've ever worn a dress with a hidden zipper, you'll understand how unsettling it feels to pay $150 for a dress you've never even tried on at a store that only offers exchanges, for a wedding that is only 4 months away. I even called another location to see if I they carried the dress in that size and they did not. Regardless, they told me the dress would arrive in 4 weeks (February 14th.) However, the rest of the bridesmaid's received their dresses (from North Carolina stores) about 2 weeks early. So, when February 18th rolled around and I hadn't heard anything, I called. They said my dress arrived on FEBRUARY 1st! No one could give me an answer as to why I hadn't been called to come pick it up. I set up an appointment to try the dress on and another, two days later to get it hemmed. They told me that because I hadn't purchased the "Alteration Package," it would cost me $60. SIXTY DOLLARS TO HEM A DRESS. I asked "What is the Alteration Package? ($39.00) and was I supposed to be offered the Alteration Package, at some point?" Again, they couldn't give me an answer as to why no one had. The Manager told me she would make a note ensuring the Sales Team honored the package price because of all these mixups and I returned to the store for my alteration appointment. When I arrived, they told me that I hadn't purchased the package (and I hadn't, yet) but that I could not purchase the package and use it on the same day. So they couldn't officially begin working on my dress until the following business day (a Monday) and that my dress would not be ready for pickup until THE DAY BEFORE I WAS LEAVING FOR THE WEDDING. Should anything, ANYTHING be wrong with the dress, this leaves no time to remedy mistakes or errors. (And given the store's miscommunications leading up to this point, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.) Additionally, when I asked if the dress could be picked up sooner, since I was traveling for a month solid beginning March 9th and only returning to Vegas on April 9 for two days before flying back out for the ceremony, they told me they'd have to put a Rush on it since that was less than 4 weeks away. But, if the store had called me when the dress arrived, 2 weeks earlier than quoted, this would not be an issue. I have an appointment to pick the dress up this Wednesday (they had to make a special exception for me, since they usually only do pick up's on Thursday's,) I will update this review once this ordeal has finally been finished. But, I can tell you one thing. Should I ever get married, I will NEVER subject myself, or my friends and family to the horrors of this store, or any of its franchises.
