| - I've been meaning to write this review since we moved back to SoCal. Now that I have a few minutes to spare I'd like to share our experience as Pet parents and how difficult it is to find a Good and Honest Vet.
I can't say enough good things about this Vet...Dr. Roach, Dr. Doming and their staff have been AWESOME and definitely TRUSTWORTHY! They deserve 5 plus stars!!! When we moved to LV from Cali, our 1 year old American Bully Austin started to have health issues. We were apprehensive about taking him to just any Vet. So we did some research online and found them on Yelp. They had good reviews online and we decided to give them a chance. Our first visit was nerve racking, I was worried about Austin's health, costs of the diagnostic tests/lab work and overall their integrity. But everything was Excellent from the time we arrived and checked in with the front desk staff.
We met with Dr. Roach, he was friendly and made us feel comfortable. He had explained and reviewed his initial assessment with us and provided us with a list of tests that needed to be done. He was also sensitive to our financial situation and provided us with several options. He didn't make us feel like bad pet parents for holding off on a few tests unlike some other places or Vets. After a few thorough testing, Dr. Roach was able to narrow it down to what he called, "Textbook Allergy Boy". He was always upfront about Austins health issues and never pressured us into doing unnecessary procedures. After a few months of treatment and medications Austins skin and health started to get better. Thank God for Dr. Roach, Dr. Doming and their staff! Its hard to find a good, honest and caring Vet these days.
Having Pet Insurance and an honest Vet definitely helps especially in urgent situations. We moved back to Cali late last year and still drove Austin to Vegas to see Dr. Doming (While Dr. Roach was attending a Seminar). Austin had an allergic reaction to his new environment and we found this Expensive Vet close by our new home here in SoCal. Well that was the worst experience ever! Our first visit and the Vet/Doctor was already trying to up sell us and recommend a "Bone Marrow treatment"! Long story short, we freaked out and just drove Austin to Vegas. We were able to get in to see Dr. Doming. She examined Austin and prescribed him some antibiotics and refilled his normal meds. She also recommended a change in his food and put him on a food trial. Yes, it was the Expensive Medicated type of food (Hill's Prescription Diet Food). But we trust her recommendations. Since then Austin has been doing Great and the food trial definitely helped with his allergies.
I also wanted to mention that while we were still searching for a good and honest Vet out here in SoCal. Dr. Roach and Dr. Doming were always willing to take our calls if Austin needed a refill or if we had any type of questions regarding Austin's treatment. They never hesitated nor tried to charge for phone consults or for calling the pharmacy for his refills. Dr. Doming even called us a couple of times to check in on Austins progress! How Awesome is that?!
Thanks to Dr. Roach and Dr. Doming, Austin's health has improved and he's a Happy little chunky boy!
I highly recommend taking your pets to West Russell for any type of health issues, vaccinations, boarding and grooming! Their whole staff are truly compassionate, caring and trustworthy Healthcare Professionals. The only bad thing I can say is...we couldn't take them with us to Cali!
