I don't go to ice rinks much. I'm not a skater nor do I have any young relatives who play hockey. But that doesn't mean I'm not a fan of hockey. I was here for a fundraiser for the Madison Fire Department's Make a Wish charity. For that event, the space was perfect. A kitchen to sell food and beverages. An area for the silent auction and raffle prizes. The event itself was free but you could buy raffle tickets, food, beverages, and merchandise like shirts.
It was great to see the MFD on the ice. All the participants were good sports and nice to my friend's young boy when he approached them. The ceremony for this year's recipient was nice. I would be happy to attend this event again. Now if I am asked about a skating rink, I have one to talk about.
